We are successful business professionals seeking SYnergistic CONNections (SYCONN) that create solutions for today’s America. We have come together out of shared concerns about the direction the United States is heading. Our primary mission is to focus on children’s education and encourage citizens to voice their opinions on how their education tax dollars are spent. We are supporting nonprofit organizations in adapting a business mindset to manage their operations effectively and achieve maximum results.
We are also parents and grandparents seeking the best future for our children and our country. We are building a team of dedicated parents and grandparents who disagree with the direction government-run education is going. Through our research and team building, we are changing the direction of education in this country.
The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed the incompetence and dysfunctionality of our government at all levels. Most of the decisions made in dealing with COVID-19 were reactive instead of proactive, and time has confirmed that there were more bad decisions than good ones. The most disheartening part of this debacle is that politicians at all levels still defend their flawed judgments instead of admitting their mistakes.
Instead of merely criticizing those in positions of power, we had a sober realization. Along with people who share our views, we played a role in their election by casting our votes for them or failing to support rational and sensible candidates. This realization sparked a sense of responsibility in us, and we decided to channel our resources into discovering practical solutions and raising awareness among “The Silent Majority” to join our movement to reclaim our country from the minority radicals.
Our research revealed that hundreds of millions of Americans and hundreds of nonprofit and small parent groups are working to solve this catastrophic problem.
Drawing from our successful business background, we often use terminology such as marketing, sales, customers, clients, return on investment (ROI), percentage participation, cash flow, fixed costs, and variable costs. While some may think that these practices are only applicable to for-profit entities, it’s important to recognize that nonprofits are also businesses. They should operate under the same principles to effectively manage costs and enhance efficiency.
In business, “customers” refers to participants, clients, users, and similar entities, while “sales” can include supporters, donors, volunteers, and others. Nonprofits should calculate the return on investment (ROI) for materials or activities that require time or money, such as handouts, books, videos, web postings, or blogs. If an initiative is not yielding significant results, it should be assessed for potential improvements or considered for discontinuation. If the decision is made to discontinue the initiative, it is important to document the reasons for its lack of success to avoid repeating the same mistakes in the future.
What is looks like is uniting nonprofit organizations and parent groups as the United Parents Support Network to cause the transformation of education and the awakening of how to effectively manage nonprofit entities like a business to maximize success.
